Race Rules

In effect from registration until the race is closed

1. Acceptance of the Competition Rules

These competition rules (hereinafter: Rules) set out the terms of registration and participation in the running race organized by the Organizer (hereinafter: Race). By registering, the Participant declares that they have read and understood the Rules, and accept its provisions as binding on them. Complying with and familiarizing oneself with the Rules is the Participant's responsibility.

2. Details of the Organizer

  • Organizer: Running Latte Club Kft.
  • Registered office: 8096 Sukoró, Oltvány köz 3., Hungary
  • Tax number: 32977806-2-07
  • Company registration number: 07 09 037260

3. Basic details of the Race

Date: September 19, 2027 (Sunday), daytime start, from 8:00 AM.

Distance and race categories: the Race is held over two distances: 10 km and 21 km.

Duo relay: on the 21 km distance, entry is also possible in the form of a duo (2-person) relay.

Further details regarding the venue, course data, and routes will be communicated on the latterace.com website following the relevant official approvals.

The organizer makes the race route available as a GPX track, which is recommended to be followed using a watch or phone. The organizer will assist with orientation using signs, tape, and markings on the road surface; however, these may occasionally be missing or damaged, so the officially defined GPX track governs the route.

Runners must keep to the route designated for traffic, including cycle paths and pavements, and must comply with traffic regulations; runners must keep to the right at all times and must not obstruct one another or other vehicles on the route.

The registrant accepts that the race route crosses several public roads that are not closed to traffic, and that participants cross these points at their own risk. Traffic regulations, as set out in the Hungarian Highway Code (KRESZ), apply at these points. Safety personnel engaged by the organizers, such as course marshals, may warn racers about the right of way of vehicles and may even hold racers back until traffic has passed. However, the authority of course marshals does not extend to stopping vehicles or otherwise intervening in traffic; it is limited to holding back racers. The organizers bear no liability for consequences arising from a racer disregarding the traffic regulations in force at a given point, or the signals of course marshals or the police.

4. Registration

Registration is only possible through the Organizer's own online platform, via the latterace.com or latterace.hu website. The technical operation of ticket sales is provided by the Cheers registration system (operated by Develops Kft.).

Registration becomes valid upon acceptance of the Rules and payment in full of the entry fee.

The organizer may designate a time and place for on-site registration.

4.1. Amending the registration

Registration details may be amended no later than July 15, 2027, via the online platform provided by the Organizer.

Up to the stated deadline, the following details may be amended:

  • the chosen race distance,
  • contact details (email address, phone number),
  • T-shirt size.

Changing the name given at registration (transferring the registration to a third party) is also possible until July 15, 2027, subject to payment of a 7,500 HUF administration fee. Payment of the fee is a condition for the name change to take effect. Further information on amendment requests can be found on the website.

After the stated deadline, registration details can no longer be amended.

5. Duo relay

The detailed rules of the duo relay – in particular the location of the relay zone, the handover procedure, the division of the distance between team members, and other technical conditions – have not yet been finalized. The Organizer will send the detailed rules to Participants registered for the duo relay in a separate notice following registration.

6. Entry fees, price tiers

The entry fee changes in tiers according to the time of registration, as follows:

Price tier

7. Discounts

Student discount: available upon presentation of a valid international student card (ISIC).

Disability discount: registration is free of charge upon presentation of a currently valid disability card/certificate.

Eligibility for the discounts is verified and checked at bib pickup, by physical presentation of the original documents listed above. In the absence of such proof, the Organizer may refuse to apply the discount, and the Participant must pay the full entry fee.

8. Race pack and bib number

The bib number must be worn at the front, clearly visible and undamaged, for the entire duration of the Race. If this rule is breached, the Organizer may issue a warning, and disqualify the Participant for a repeated breach.

The bib number may not be transferred to another person; the Participant may only take part with the bib number issued in their own name.

9. Starting zone

The arrangements for the starting zone have not yet been finalized. The Organizer will provide detailed information to registered Participants in a separate notice prior to the date of the Race.

10. Health and fitness

The Participant declares that they are in the physical and health condition required to complete their chosen race distance, and that they take part in the Race at their own risk. The Organizer and medical personnel are entitled, at any point during the Race, to disqualify a Participant who is not in adequate condition, in the interest of the Participant's safety.

11. Refreshments

The organizer will arrange for the placement of refreshment points and ensure they are provided in sufficient number.

12. Photographs and video recordings

By registering, the Participant acknowledges that photographs and videos may be taken of them during the Race, which the Organizer may use to promote the Race and its own activities, or make available to a third party (e.g. a media partner). The Participant is not entitled to any compensation in connection with the use of such recordings.

13. Prohibited conduct, disqualification

A Participant may be disqualified from the Race if they:

  • complete the distance using a vehicle (including a bicycle),
  • leave the designated route or shorten it,
  • transfer their bib number to another person, or take part using a bib number received from someone else,
  • engage in unsportsmanlike or abusive conduct toward the Organizer's staff or another Participant,
  • fail to dispose of litter at a designated collection point,
  • breach the rules of the duo relay (e.g. the relay zone).

14. Force Majeure

The Organizer is entitled to cancel the race in the event of force majeure, i.e. an unavoidable external cause. Force majeure includes in particular any unforeseeable, extraordinary, and unavoidable circumstance arising on the day of the race or in the days preceding it that makes it impossible, or makes it impossible from a safety standpoint, to hold the event – including in particular, but not limited to: extreme weather conditions, natural disaster (e.g. flood), epidemic, an official order or prohibition, strike, blockade, the lack of a permit required to use the route or the necessary areas, a transit permit withdrawn before the start of the race, an accident, or any other cause beyond the Organizer's control that could not have been planned for in advance.

The Organizer also reserves the right to cancel the race if, in its judgment, weather conditions (in particular strong wind, heavy rain, a heatwave, or similar phenomena) are dangerous to such an extent that the event cannot be held safely without endangering the health of Participants.

By registering, the registered Participant expressly accepts and acknowledges that, in the event of force majeure as described above, the entry fee and any other costs incurred in connection with registration will not be refunded. This applies in particular also where the race must be cancelled before September 17, 2027 due to an epidemic, flood, natural disaster, or other similar cause.

The Organizer will nonetheless – where possible – seek to mitigate the financial consequences of a cancellation through appropriate and timely measures. Any amount that remains available as a result (surplus) may result in a partial refund to Participants of a corresponding amount.

The Organizer reserves the right to change the venue, date, and course route of the program. If, prior to the day of the race, the Organizer determines that the event cannot be held due to force majeure or another dangerous circumstance, it is entitled to postpone the event. In the event the event is postponed, any amount that remains available will not be refunded to Participants.

15. Fair competition

The Participant takes part in the Race by fair means, in accordance with the rules of sportsmanship, and refrains from using any prohibited, performance-enhancing substance or method.

16. Liability

The Participant takes part in the Race at their own risk. The Organizer is not liable for damage occurring during the Race that is connected to the Participant's health condition, unless the damage results from the Organizer's intentional or grossly negligent conduct.

17. Cancellation of the Race

The procedure to be followed in the event the Race does not take place (in particular the conditions for refunding the entry fee or transferring it to another date) has not yet been finalized. The Organizer will send the detailed rules to registered Participants in a separate notice.

18. Insurance

The registrant acknowledges that the entry fee does not include insurance.

19. Data processing

The Organizer processes Participants' personal data in accordance with the applicable laws in force at any given time, in particular the provisions of the GDPR. The detailed rules of data processing are set out in the privacy notice published on the Organizer's website, available at the following link: https://latterace.com/policies/privacy-policy.

20. Closing provisions

The Organizer reserves the right to amend the Race program, the route, and these Rules. The Organizer will inform registered Participants of any amendments via the contact details provided at registration, and/or on the Race's official website.
